Pink Rock Boogie
We moved into a property formerly owned by a landscape developer. We thought it was great at the time we moved in. The lot looked beautiful, there were lots of flowers, shrubs, trees and pink rock everywhere. Everything was fine until Winter came. Then I quickly found that the pink rock lining both sides of the driveway and the walkway reeked havoc with my snow blower. One stray rock and BLAM! The snowblower quit blowing snow. Broken parts, flying rocks not-so-very-fun.
After several winters of fixing the snow blower I decided, "Hey! Let's remove the rock on both sides of the driveway and put in sod!" Easy right? Wrong! I quickly found that the rock was almost 5" deep. Yipes!
Then… What do I do when I get it dug out?
My wife suggested running an ad on Craig's list dot org! I thought, "Yeah right! Who wants pink rock?" None-the-less I piled the rock in a huge pile in the driveway and ran a free ad on Craig's list. Free Pink Rock, come and get it!
People started to call and show up from everywhere! A-May-Zing! Speaking of May… It's been that long since I worked on it and I need to get this job completed before the Association members start to complain about dirt, no grass and no pink rock. (I like the no pink rock part.)
I thought I was almost ready to add black dirt and sod in place of the pink rock but I'm finding that the pink rock is somehow spawning more pink rock. No matter how much I dig, there's more pink rock. I swear pink rock grows in my front yard. And I didn't even pour coffee on it! (That's another story.)
So anyway, my goal this month is to make yet another pile of pink rock in the front yard. Run yet another Craig's List ad. And get that sod in well before winter. Enough of fixing the snow blower. And hopefully, after completing my mission, my neighbors won't look at my lawn in disgust.
What does pink rock have to do with Website Development. Not much, except it pulls away from my time developing your website… So if any of you out there, need website work done, and you specialize in landscaping? I'm all ears! Call me! 763-445-WEBS.
Have an awesome week! (Want pink rock?)
